We collected trash near the river “Murr” of Backnang. Even if the area around the river gets cleaned every day we found a lot of old plastic bags, bottles, papers or even new year´s eve rockets. It was a cold and windy day.

A very small group of our European Club / Erasmus+ students participated yesterday on a Surf activity respecting all Covid19 Safety Regulations. We live by the sea, so let's celebrate and respect our neighbour! We invited two of the authors of the book ”Guss på äventyr”, to come and visit our school and the Erasmus group. The book is an illustrated children´s book, made to teach the youngest how to keep the ocean clean. They explained for our students step by step how they did to create the mentioned book. It was interesting.
The girls started a company, called OCEAN UF, in order to take part in a competition for young entrepreneurs. They won first prize! Portugal had a field trip appointed for today. Unfortunately, due to social confinement, that will not be possible. But...
We will do it, at home, in virtual mode. We invite all of you to come with us. It is possible to switch to your language. Get on board and have a safe trip: https://bit.ly/visitSadoRiver Did you know that Earth Day is celebrated since 1970? 50 years!
Click on the image to see some activities. We, with the Erasmus STEPs Project are also preparing some activities. What about a Flash Mob? Visit our Padlet and discover what's a digital Flash Mob. All of us have a lot of time during confinement. All of us produce waste. Can we reuse something? We will show our creativity and concern about the planet sustainability.
Our students have been reading about the COVID19 topic and they prepared some presentations, according to the information available..
February 2020. A group of 28 students (class 3A) from the IIS Medi Scientific Lyceum, guided by their teachers and exponents of local associations, cleaned a piece of beach, collecting 148 kg of litter! This was possible thanks to the cooperation with the Association "Mare Vivo" and the local "Dusty" society.
This initiative has been disseminated by the media. Link to the article here. For two weeks, we weighed the amount of food thrown at our school. We alerted students to this and urged the students to reduce their waste. Two weeks later, we weighed again and it turned out that we had reduced the waste by 25 kilos. During this campaign we used the posters produced by all participating students at the first meeting in Sweden. Activity: clean the beach, praia da Rainha, and make registers on the amount and type of litter. |
